Trip from Jaipur to Hyderabad (1450 KM)

Trip from Jaipur to Hyderabad (1450 KM)
Dear friends,
Due to the COVID-19 Lockdown we have been stuck in Jaipur for quite a long time. I with my family at last have decided to travel back to Hyderabad on road on my (KIA SELTOS GTX), which I purchased in September 2019. For us to travel to Hyderabad, we required e-pass which I have applied on 1st of May 2020. It took quite a long time to get our e-pass, as Telangana government was not allowing the migrants to enter the state, due to the increase in cases of corona in Hyderabad. Finally, on 10th May Chief Minister (KCR) of Telangana have decided to allow the stranded people from other states to come back to Telangana. So, we finally got our E-pass from District Magistrate of Rajasthan, Jaipur on Monday (i.e on 11/05/2020). They gave a validity of 1 week for us to travel back to our home town (Hyderabad).
We have decided to travel as early as possible, because of changing situations due to corona pandemic... I along with my family have decided not to halt anywhere for food or water in the course of our journey. As we were travelling long distance, we would be requiring good amount of food, snacks and water. So, we packed sufficient food and water for 2 days. It took 5 hours for my wife to prepare food to carry while we were travelling (as I have 20 months baby) it is quite important for me to ensure that I give proper home food for her. Food items that we packed were chapatis, tomato curry, boiled eggs and some snacks (like biscuits, milk-powder, salt, sugar, Mayonnaise, Tomato ketchup, raw onions, bread, bun’s etc...). We started our Journey on Tuesday (12/05/2020), on early morning 5:20 AM.
Day 1:- started journey from Jaipur at 5.20 AM route (Jaipur-Kota) 252 KM. It took, 4 hours for me to cover Kota. I halted, for half an hour our breakfast at outskirts of Kota.
From Kota we started after our breakfast at 10.00 AM towards Jhalawar. (Kota- Jhalawar) 89 KM. it took 1.30 Hrs for me to cover until Jhalawar. At around 11.40 AM I reached Jhalawar.
Our next course of journey was (Jhalawar – Bhopal) 256 KM. I reached Bhopal at around 4.30 PM in the evening. I stopped at outskirts of Bhopal for my Lunch/Dinner.
Let me tell you the Road from Jaipur to Bhopal was excellent we didn’t face any kind of issues to reach Bhopal. The trouble started when I reached Bhopal. Our, next destination was Nagpur (Bhopal – Nagpur) 351 KM. As I was travelling at good pace, I thought I would be covering the next 351 KM in 6 hours with the same pace and reach Nagpur by 12.00 mid-night. But, the road from Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) to Nagpur (Maharashtra) is a state road and it is single road. There was construction of road going on, so I could only keep an average of 60KM’s and cover to Betul which is around (178 KM), by the time I reached it was 9.30 PM and I was really exhausted after 14 hours of continuous travel. We decided to halt at that place (let me tell you there was still 60 KM left to reach Betul, I decided to halt there as it was Ghat Road and I was really tired). I chose a place which was having good security. There was petrol pump, Police check point and some residential homes. We halted there and rested that night in my car till early morning 3 AM.
Day 2:- (60 KM away from Betul) I started my journey on day – 2 at 3.00 AM towards Betul. It was Ghat road and took 1.30 hour to reach Betul. I would recommend, to stay little longer and start around 6.00 AM when the sunlight comes up. Because, the road towards Betul is forest area and it is really scenic. We reached Betul Toll by 4.30 AM. I rested for another 1 hour as my sleep was not complete I was feeling little sleepy. We, started at 5.30 and reached Nagpur by 9.30 AM (188 KM). Let me tell you the road from Betul to Nagpur, is scenic, Ghats, forest, and perfect for enjoying the ride. The road is excellent from Betul to Nagpur, It is a Four lane Toll road with nice scenic places. We, stopped at HP petrol pump to freshen up ourselves and get ready for our 2nd day of journey. As, I crossed Nagpur I had my breakfast at outskirts of Nagpur.
Next journey was (Nagpur- Nizambad) 346 KM. From Nagpur we started our journey at 10.00 AM and reached Adilabad border by 11.00 AM. We were stopped, by government, and health authorities to check for Temperature scanning. We were stamped, for home quarantine for 14 days. We started from there at around 11.30 and reached Nizambad by 1.30 PM. Rested there for 15 minutes, and started journey towards Hyderabad. Reached home (Hyderbad) by 4.00 PM.
Summary: - At last I covered with my family a total distance of 1450 KM by road in 34 hours. With a break of 6 hours in between for rest. We really enjoyed our journey, except the (200 KM ) from Bhopal to Betul. The journey was really, a remembering lifetime experience for me and my family. My 20 months Daughter too enjoyed the trip, I should really appreciate that she did not give us much trouble (As you know kids don’t stay long at one place for many hours). I would say home food, that we prepared really helped us in saving time and energy. So, if you are travelling, kindly plan in advance and prepare accordingly. Hope my blog, would help people like me who would love to travel long distances. At, last I would say KIA SELTOS was my best choice that I decided to purchase. The travel with it was really, memorable and relaxing.
My Sincere request to people reading the blog, is, please take necessary measures while travelling for long distances and corona is not gonna end very soon and we need to start living with it, hence I feel that we should be little proactive and prepare things to save ourselves from COVID-19 and stay happy stay safe.
